This is Part Two of Dismantling the False Refuge
The impact of a wounding moment
Here is a sample of some of the basic lies clients believe. I have "collected" this list over the years (since 2005) working with clients in my practice. It's great to know some sample lies so when clients are trying to access their lies you can give them "suggestions" of what they may be believing when you hear their story.
I'm not worthy. I'm not worthy to receive anything from God.
God doesn't love me. God doesn't love me like other people.
God doesn't care about me.
God doesn't care about my future. It's up to me. I'm not on His radar screen.
I don't deserve anything good, to be loved, anything.
My value is only in what I do.
I am beyond repair. I can't change.
I'll never be known or understood.
I have to wear a mask or I'll be rejected.
Not good enough. Never enough. Not enough.
I'm unloveable. Will never be loved.
I'll always be rejected.
My feelings don't matter. No one cares how I feel.
I have to wear a mask or I'll be rejected.
It's my fault. I'm responsible.
I have to stay two steps ahead.
I have to be in control.
I'll never belong.
I'm always alone.
I'm ugly.
I'm bad,
I'm unclean.
I'm dumb.
